2020 Magnolia Book Awards
Now Playing: Book Winners are announced!
Topic: Books

The Magnolia Book Awards are officially announced.

How did this happen?

What are the Magnolia Awards?

First, many books are sent to librarians on this committee from authors and publishers. Then the librarians choose which 10 books they think their reading audience will like the best in each category. Here is the best part... students get to vote and choose which book they like the best.

Check out the winners and then look to see which books students get to vote on next year for the 2021 Magnolia Book Award.

Planting Seeds for a Healthy Life
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: How to plant Tomatos & Multiplication
Topic: Gardens

First plant several seeds in each container.

Potting soil works best. Plants need water and sun to grow.

If several plants grow in each cup,

seperate the plants so they can grow bigger.

How many tomatos will be able to fit in your garden space?

Can you grow a tomato plant in a bucket?

When will you start your garden?

Do tomato sandwiches have vitamin C?

Let me know how your garden grows.

Magnolia Possible Books
Now Playing: Smack Dab in the middle of Maybe
Topic: Magnolia Awards

Smack Dab in the Middle of Maybe by Jo Watson Hackl

Cricket is staying with family when she is mistakenly left at a store.

She had found a cricket and was trying to get him and didn't realize that the store closed and her family left her.

This was a chance for her to look for the mysterious room that her mother had spoke of before she left.

Could she survive on her own and solve the mystery?

This is a story about a girl and her pet cricket and their adventure through nature to get to the truth.

This book is being considered for the 2021 Magnolia Award.

My rating is 4 out of 5 stars.

(3rd - 5th grade, Genre: Fiction)
