Dream Within a Dream by Patricia Maclachlan

Louisa enjoys living on the island during the summer months with her grandparents.

This summer is different. She makes a new friend and together they start a fun project that involves art, writing and community.

Will her brother get to read books during the summer? He is so excited because he is able to get a home library set up at his grandparent's house.

This is another new possible choice for the 2021 Magnolia Award top 10.

This is a sweet book written by the author that wrote Sara Plain and Tall.

(3rd- 7th grade, Genre: Fiction)

This book gets 4.5 stars out of five.

Smack Dab in the Middle of Maybe by Jo Watson Hackl

Cricket is staying with family when she is mistakenly left at a store.

She had found a cricket and was trying to get him and didn't realize that the store closed and her family left her.

This was a chance for her to look for the mysterious room that her mother had spoke of before she left.

Could she survive on her own and solve the mystery?

This is a story about a girl and her pet cricket and their adventure through nature to get to the truth.

This book is being considered for the 2021 Magnolia Award.

My rating is 4 out of 5 stars.

(3rd - 5th grade, Genre: Fiction)

Now Playing: Klaude: Evil Alien Warlord Cat
Topic: Magnolia Awards

Klawde Evil Alien Warlord Cat is written by Johnny Marciano & Emily Chenoweth.

This story is filled with excitement, cute pictures and an alien cat from another planet.

Will they be able to make the transporter to travel back to his former planet?

Toasters come up missing among other items. Time will only tell.

This book is being considered for the 2021 Magnolia Award top ten.

This is only the first of 3 books that have recently been published.

This book gets 4 out of 5 stars in my book review.

(3rd-5th grade, Genre: science fiction)

Magnolia 2020 Book List
Mood:  a-ok
Now Playing: What should I read next?
Topic: Magnolia Awards

Every year Mississippi picks 10 books in each category to be the best 10 books for the Magnolia Award List.

Out of this list students read and vote on their favorite book in February.

Pick out a book in your category and start reading!

It is time to head to the public library to see what they have.

Have fun reading! My goal is to read a hundred books this summer. Cool
